PEAK SLAMMER HELP

Overview

Scrollworks Peak Slammer Plug-In allows the overall volume of audio data to be increased without clipping by scaling down any peaks above a given threshold. This differs from standard compression in that instead of applying the scaling after a threshold is reached, any peak that exceeds the threshold is scaled down from zero-crossing to zero-crossing. Because the first zero-crossing may have already occurred before the threshold was reached, there is a half second buffer that will be noticeable when used in real-time.

Maximum Level

Controls the maximum level threshold. Any peak in the audio waveform that exceeds the Max Level setting is scaled down to be equal to the max level.

Range: -Inf. to 0 dB

Normalize Maximum Level to Full Volume

When checked, the audio will be scaled up so that the max level will become full volume (0 dB). This has the same effect as performing a normalize operation on the peak-slammed audio.
